Giving Offerings

A little "coin wheel" attached to the back makes it look like coins are dropping into the treasury.

God loves a cheerful giver! This craft can be used for any lesson about giving. We used it for "Joash and the people gave offerings," but the template is blank so you can write in any verse you want.

Materials:

  • Copies of Template 1 (Offerings) and Template 2 (Coin wheel) on card stock or regular paper

  • Crayons or markers

  • Scissors

  • Brads

  • X-acto knife or craft blade (a scissor blade can be used in a pinch)

  • Ice pick or sharp scissor blade

Directions

  • Before class, cut out the wedge from each paper with the craft knife.

  • Before class, poke a hole in the picture and the coin wheels with the ice pick.

  • Color the picture.

  • Color the coins (metallic crayons or Sharpies are fun for this) and cut out a coin wheel.

  • Use the brad to affix the coin wheel to the back of the picture so that the coins show through the little window

  • Fold up the tab. Holding the picture, use the tab to turn the wheel and watch the coins drop into the treasury box.
