Paul and Barnabas' Missionary Journey

Let your little ones guide Paul and Barnabas on their missionary journey with the magic of magnets! This craft covers the main cities where the two proclaimed the Good News that Jesus was God's Son, and that He paid the price for their sins so they could enjoy a true Father-child relationship with the One True God! This was a new concepts for the Greeks, who worshipped many gods.

Paul and Barnabas also visited the synagogues wherever they went so they could show the Jews how Jesus fulfilled every Messianic prophecy in the Old Testament.

This magnet-backed craft lets kids move Paul and Barnabas along the map with an "invisible" hand (behind the paper with a magnet). They loved it!

While they work, you can talk about what Paul and Barnabas did in Acts 14. You can also talk about how God creates cool things like magnets!

Materials:

  • Card stock

  • Scissors

  • Glue sticks

  • Set of two magnets for each child

1. Print a Paul and Barnabas Map (template 1) for each child on card stock-weight paper.

2. Print the tiny Paul and Barnabas characters (template 2) and give one to each child to cut out.

3. Color and cut out the characters.

4. Separate the magnets and glue one to the back of the characters, using lots of glue from the glue stick. Set aside to dry while you color the map. (NOTE: Make sure they glue the correct side of the magnet to the back of the characters. This helps them get maximum "hold" through the heavy paper.)

5. Color the map.

6. Now is the fun part! Place the characters + magnet on top of the map and hold the matching magnet under the paper. When they move the magnet in back, Paul & Barnabas will move across the map!
